Serve Day is an annual event empowering local churches in serving their community in ways that clearly demonstrate the power of God's love through acts of kindness and meeting real needs. Each year, churches in different regions join together to plan and implement projects that serve non-profits and neighborhoods in practical ways. Be part of Serve Day – be a catalyst of God's grace, love and compassion in your region.
To allow Serve Day to change how the church understands and responds to the community where it is planted, thereby changing how the community perceives the church and Christ.
Serve Day is a catalyst...
Local – people and needs exist in a concrete geographic location. The local church is planted in a specific place and designed to live out the gospel of Christ in loving their neighbor and meeting real need.
Unity – local churches are specific communities of Christ followers with unique gifts and ministries. Most communities are made up of multiple congregations striving to follow Christ. They are to make every effort in being united in Christ for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.
Action/Service – as salt and light the church is to engage their communities in living out the gospel of Christ and fostering transformation for the glory of God.
Resource – Western culture is complex, fragmented and saturated with information. We provide a user-friendly tool for local churches to unite and serve their communities effectively and powerfully for Christ.
Excellence – we strive to demonstrate our care through excellence in our service, preparation and communication.

Our goal is to be a catalyst of God's grace, love and compassion on the Central Coast. This list is provided to stir creative thinking for each ministry to consider how your congregation or group might best embody that grace. We strongly encourage you to begin with prayer and those in the community with whom you currently have, or would like to build redemptive relationships. Then consider the skills, passions, vision, etc. that make up those in your ministry. You may have dentists who provide checkups to the homeless, or to single moms and their kids. Perhaps you have a group of mechanics who would provide tune-ups/basic maintenance for free for the underprivileged at a designated location. You might have educators who would like to offer tutoring, or graphic designer who would like to offer their services to specific non-profits. Our only limit is our collective imagination. As the Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians may we pray for one another, "For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." May the Lord multiply the love of Christ in us throughout the Central Coast.
